A Master's-level Intern Therapist is a compassionate individual who is trained in their academic program and passionate about providing quality care. Many intern therapists have already attended a variety of professional trainings and have years of experience in the mental health field, but are now pursuing their Master's degree to be able to practice professionally.
Because interns receive ongoing support from a licensed clinician supervisor, their professors (who are also therapists), and the licensed clinicians on the Practical Online Therapy team, you would, in a way, be receiving support from multiple therapists! Intern therapists also take ongoing trainings and are constantly learning while enrolled in their academic program.

Practical Online Therapy will sometimes have intern therapists who are in their Master's academic program, and can provide psychotherapy to clients
Intern therapists provide therapy under the supervision of a licensed professional. Because your privacy and comfort are of the upmost importance, supervisors are not present during therapy sessions and sessions are not recorded. Intern therapists are supervised by discussing their cases during regular meetings with their supervisor.
During supervision meetings, the supervisor reviews your concerns and treatment goals, and provides a treatment plan and techniques for the intern therapist to use. The intern therapist combines this guidance with their own experience and the information they've learned in their academic program as well as trainings they've attended, to provide you with the highest quality of care.
